John Fred & His Playboy Band (compacto simples)

A importância deste compacto é a faixa do lado b, difícil de se encontrar. Eu, pelo menos, nunca a tinha visto por aí, apesar de já ter encontrado na web coletâneas de John Fred & PB. O hit Judy In Disguise não foi extraído do disquinho (bem judiado por sinal, dá pra ver pela capa), por ser uma faixa fácil de encontrar em melhores condições. Mas, pela raridade, pelo valor histórico, recomendo baixar, para ouvir Leave Her Never. Este disco fez parte da minha infancia, e até hoje eu gosto muito das duas faixas.

-Aaaaahhh, minha coleção de lps... Este foi uma das coletaneas que vieram após o 'Rock Esperto', como uma consequencia. Com 8 faixas em cada lado (!), o disco tem grandes clássicos como Roll Over Beethoven (ELO), Black Night (Deep Purple), Apache (The Shadows), Get Back (Beatles), entre outros; mas também traz boas surpresas (para mim), como I Hear You Knocking (Dave Edmunds), Silver Machine (Hawkwind), etc. Além da recém descoberta Do Ya (The Move), também presente no Rock Esperto.

Quando eu e meu irmão compramos este vinil, já num sebo, foi uma festa. Começamos a ouvir pelo lado B (ao acaso), e já foi demais pra nós, que até entao só conheciamos este classico do Kiss através da versão dos Fevers (!). Depois, foi aquela grata surpresa de descobrir uma das originais do nosso Sound Power (Long Cool Woman, dos Hollies),disco já largamente postado e comentado aqui. As boas surpresas continuaram com The Move (o qual sacamos na hora ''alguma relação com o ELO"), e no fim do lado, outra grande surpresa: Centerfold, que nós já conhecíamos muito de assistir o clip na tv, mas não saberíamos encontrar ainda. Enfim, curtimos o disco todo, com vários destaques, e certamente nos influenciou muito, no gosto musical e nas futuras aquisições.
